Powering industry authority with a data-centric strategy.
Exclusive endpoint intelligence on Windows 11 adoption fuels sustained media visibility and thought leadership.

CHALLENGE
Standing out in a crowded Windows 11 migration narrative.
As the Windows 10 end-of-support deadline approached, the technology media landscape was saturated with speculation, surveys, and vendor projections about Windows 11 adoption. Enterprise IT leaders were seeking accurate insight into migration readiness, but much of the available data lacked real-world validation.
ControlUp’s Digital Employee Experience platform had access to something uniquely valuable. The platform collects real-time telemetry from millions of enterprise endpoints, offering a live view into Windows 11 adoption rates, readiness gaps, and deployment progress across organizations worldwide.
The challenge was to transform this proprietary data into a sustained media narrative that would position ControlUp as the authoritative source of enterprise endpoint intelligence during a critical industry transition.
SOLUTION
Turning real-time data telemetry into headline news.
Avista developed a data-driven media campaign that aligned with key milestones leading up to Windows 10 end of support. Instead of a single announcement, the strategy focused on releasing timely, exclusive insights drawn directly from ControlUp’s Windows 11 Readiness Dashboard and large-scale endpoint analysis.
One of the most compelling findings revealed that half of enterprise Windows endpoints had not yet migrated to Windows 11. Additional data points highlighted trends in deployment progress and organizational readiness based on analysis of millions of endpoints.
Avista positioned ControlUp executives as expert sources, offering commentary and thought leadership content grounded in live enterprise telemetry rather than survey-based estimates. This approach differentiated ControlUp from other voices in the market and reinforced the value of real-time endpoint visibility for IT leaders.
The campaign secured coverage across major technology and business publications including Computerworld, IT Pro, MSN, TechRadar, The Register, Tom’s Guide, Windows Central, Yahoo Finance, and ZDNet. The consistent cadence of milestone updates kept ControlUp at the center of the Windows 11 adoption conversation for months.
RESULTS
Sustained coverage and strenthened market positioning.
The campaign generated 90 dedicated earned media articles, reaching an estimated 2.85 million viewers and a total audience of 1.06 billion. Media coverage also drove 535 social media engagements across platforms.
More importantly, the coverage consistently cited ControlUp’s real-time DEX data as authoritative insight into enterprise Windows 11 migration trends. This visibility clearly positioned ControlUp as a leader in end user computing data and analytics. It reinforced a core value proposition of the ControlUp platform: uniquely collecting and analyzing end user device data in real time to help IT teams improve digital experiences for employees.

As organizations worked to prepare for Windows 10 end of support, IT leaders needed accurate and actionable data. Avista helped us transform the real-time insights from our Digital Employee Experience platform into a sustained media narrative that resonated with the industry. By strategically elevating our endpoint data and aligning it with key milestones, they positioned ControlUp as a trusted authority on Windows 11 adoption and reinforced the value of real-time visibility for enterprise IT teams.”
